How to Disable CD Autorun in XP

Depending on the type of CD's one uses, AutoRun may be more of an annoyance than a help. There are many ways of disabling them but iam showing you of them cause iam find them very simple to do.

Method 1:
=========

1) Open "My Computer"

2) Right-Click on your CD/DVD Drive->Properties.

3) Click "Autoplay" tab and choose the desired action for each type of CD.

Example: IF you want to do it in Music CDs, Choose music CD->Click on an Action to Perform->Take no action.


4) Click "Apply" that's it!

Note: You have to do this for each CD type.

Method 2:
=========

1) Start->Run and type GPEDIT.MSC

2) Computer Configuration->Administrative Templates->System.

3) Search for "Turn autoplay off" and check on "disable".


4) Click "Apply" that's it !
