In xp, Microsoft reserve 20% of your bandwidth for its own updates and services and It’s complete waste of bandwidth.
So you can save your 20% of bandwidth by disabling this 20% reservation.

# Go to Start> Run> Type gpedit.msc
gpedit.msc
# Click Limit reserve Bandwidth
Limit reserve bandwidth
# Now set Bandwidth % Limit to 0
